While we all wish that childhood was a simple time of play and joy, Dr. Crawford knows that for some children, things are more complicated. Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health challenge that children and adults face. Luckily, children have an amazing capacity to learn and implement personal changes to help themselves, to reduce and manage anxiety and mental health ‘blips’ of all types.
Dr. Crawford will work collaboratively with you and your child to develop an individualized treatment plan. She may use traditional therapies, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), hypnosis and play-based therapy to support your child’s progress.
Dr. Crawford enjoys helping children learn to ‘be the boss of their worry’ or to master their ‘sadness dragon’. She often has parents tell her that in the process of supporting their child, they too have learned new skills for managing anxiety, sadness and frustration.
